    President's day, eh? I'll wager that holiday feels a bit hollow...

    My mom flew in from Kentucky. I get to spend all day with her today and then she's staying with S____ while T____ and I go to Florida on a trip she earned as a reward from her job.

    Oh that's fun. Where in Florida? Excellent timing.

    Spent the weekend bring A____ to his music auditions for NYU and the Peabody institute. It was fun and he felt good about NYU but I'm really glad this is over. I could see the stress on him. It's a really hard process and ultimately pretty damn subjective.He opened up after his final interview and told me how much he's worried about disappointing us. Damn near broke my heart.

    Now we just chill for a month and see who says yes.

    Also saw HOMEboy Brad playing with Interpol at Madison Square Garden. Not a big fan, but it's always a treat to see my fellahs.

    We have made a pact to have Home XX ready by 2020.

    A Love Poem
    FROM A PHYSICIAN TO HIS MISTRESS
    WRITTEN AT LONDON

    By poets we are well assured
    That love, alas! can ne'er be cured;
    A complicated heap of ills,
    Despising boluses and pills.
    Ah! Chloe, this I find is true,
    Since first I gave my heart to you.
    Now, by your cruelty hard bound,
    I strain my guts, my colon wound.
    Now jealousy my grumbling tripes
    Assaults with grating, grinding gripes.
    When pity in those eyes I view,
    My bowels wambling make me spew.
    When I an amorous kiss design'd,
    I belch'd a hurricane of wind.
    Once you a gentle sigh let fall;
    Remember how I suck'd it all;
    What colic pangs from thence I felt,
    Had you but known, your heart would melt,
    Like ruffling winds in cavern pent,
    Till Nature pointed out a vent.
    How have you torn my heart to pieces
    With maggots, humours, and caprices!
    By which I got the hemorrhoids;
    And loathsome worms my anus voids.
    Whene'er I hear a rival named,
    I feel my body all inflamed;
    Which, breaking out in boils and blains,
    With yellow filth my linen stains;
    Or, parch'd with unextinguish'd thirst,
    Small-beer I guzzle till I burst;
    And then I drag a bloated corpus,
    Swell'd with a dropsy, like a porpus;
    When, if I cannot purge or stale,
    I must be tapp'd to fill a pail.

    Historian who confronted Davos billionaires leaks Tucker Carlson rant

    Bregman was probably winding Carlson up, and Carlson is so stupid that he fell for it.

    Did I miss a Home release? I thought there was supposed to be an XVIII-XIX double album but I don't recall it ever coming out. Did I miss it?
  • captqitncaptqitn Posts: 3,629
    Yeah. We also gotta do that, I guess.

    Who's your fav?
  • captqitncaptqitn Posts: 3,629
    Probably Peabody, unfortunately. Great reputation plus the selfish reason that he'd be in Baltimore.

    I'm rooting for Carnegie Mellon now because I know it would make him happiest.

    Speaking of happy, my jerk boss who gave me so much grief her first few years either quit or was fired. The joy will probably only be temporary since the position will soon be filled by another control freak.

    So much to catch up on!

    We're in Naples. T____'s bosses put us in the Ritz Carlton. Would've been cool to be in the beach hotel but we're in the golf one a little inland. They shuttle us to the beach one on demand though.

    Simon turned ten yesterday. It was a little rough leaving him the morning of his birthday, but we celebrated the night before and then left his grandma with him to make sure he had a blast.

    Rooting for A____ to get accepted all over the place and have terrific choices to make.

    Congrats on ditching your shit boss, Ev. We've heard from you in the past about how bad she was, seems like. Hopefully the next one bucks the trend and is a decent person.

    Yesterday, we ate some nice meals, went to the beach, socialized with T____'s co-workers, etc. We're going to the beach for the day. Trying to fit in maximum sexy times while childless too. Life is good.

    That sounds like a great bit of fun. Enjoy.

    Will you be there through the weekend? Or do I need to ask you this question that on the tip of my tongue?
  • captqitncaptqitn Posts: 3,629
    Well regardless, I'd like to know what everybody else is doing this weekend, please.

    Going to Philly to see A___ play with the Regional Orchestra. This is one level below all-state. These kids play at a really high level.

    Probably also see How to Train Your Dragon III: The Dragoning. I enjoy this series. I like how the main dragon looks and acts just like our cat, Ira.

    Naples, Florida? Or Naples, Italy? Jeff, is there a big volcano to the southeast?
  • LefunesteLefuneste Posts: 8,009
    I'm assuming Naples, Fl. One can't go to the beach in Naples, Italy in mid February.

    I never understand the super rich taking these kinds of risks. At the billionaire level, aren't there personal concierges to handle these types of interactions?

    Have you guys heard about Ryan Adam's troubles? Of course you have!

    The internets: "OMG! Ryan Adams is a vile abuser! Does this mean I have to throw out my record collection?"
