Gawd, I have so much work to do this weekend and I don’t wanna do anything. Freakin’ public school bullshit!
  • moetownmoetown Posts: 3,276
I stopped thinking about what a drag it was that I had all this work to do and just made myself sit in front of my computer until it was done. I’m sure I’ve said this several times: I like that I have a job, but I really hate working.

My main class is on strike so, this week, I'm only going to work next Friday. Yay!

Yep, teaching college students is way more laidback that trying to teach high-schoolers.

I need to buy a new used car, but I’m having trouble figuring out what I want. I’d like a car that’s super comfy and has a smooth ride over bumps. Of course I want good gas mileage, but I don’t want an EV. I also want something reliable. I’d really like leather seats. I know I don’t want an SUV. Any suggestions? I’d also like a kickass stereo system. When I turn up the stereo in my Prius C, the bass makes the door buzz. I don’t like that feature.

Can't help you, Ev. I know nothing about cars.

I picked the latest album by the 1975 for my drive-to-work soundtrack this morning. I’m pretty sure I won’t willingly listen to that band again.

    You didn't like it then?
  • moetownmoetown Posts: 3,276
    Not at all.

Did you know that Herschel Walker was the first FBI agent to score three touchdowns on the moon for the New York Yankees?

The things you learn on the internets, eh?

Please tell Bobinette that I love her.
  • LefunesteLefuneste Posts: 7,989
I'll give her head scritches and tell her they're from you, how about that?
  • captqitncaptqitn Posts: 3,624
    I accept the offer.
  • LefunesteLefuneste Posts: 7,989
She got your head scritches, and she purred.

Well, UK has lost another PM.

Apparently, there are rumours that Boris Johnson is expected to stand in the Tory leadership contest! 8-|

And then, after Boris fucks up again, I guess they'll elect Tarquin Fin-tim-lin-bin-whin-bim-lim-bus-stop-F'tang-F'tang-Olé-Biscuitbarrel.

Trump never dipped below about 35 percent approval, no matter what he did. Truss was far less incompetent than President Shit-fer-brains (feeble praise, eh?). But her approval ratings got down to single digits, so her political party and political base turned on her.

I'd say that, in spite of everything, UK's democracy is still in much better shape than the US's.

Nothing special tomorrow, but Sunday is my mother-in-law's birthday. I've heard we're going to a fancy-pants Thaï restaurant. There are rumors that the father-in-law is going to pickup the tab too, so I guess I'm going to stuff my face all evening!

    Classy, eh? <:-P

What kind of booze goes well with thaï food? Mimosas? White wine spritzers?

We saw Black Adam which was stupid, shallow, and relentlessly entertaining. Just a big huge dumbass superhero in the funnest way.

My Halloween movie recommendation is to get Shudder for the week (there are free trials, standalone and through Amazon Prime).

    Then watch:

    For serious, dark shit:
    Speak No Evil
    The Innocents

    For fun, horror comedy stuff:
    Deadstream
    One Cut of the Dead
    Tragedy Girls
    Psycho Goreman
    Who Invited Them?
    Glorious
    Housebound
    Scare Me

    For bonkers, vicious, immoral chaos:
    The Sadness
    For the Sake of Vicious

    For vibes:
    Offseason
    Watcher
    Caveat

    For overall scares:
    Host
    1BR
    The Descent
    Train to Busan

    For arty head fuckery:
    The Endless
    A Field in England
    Flux Gourmet
    Lux Aeterna
    Mandy
    Color Out of Space

    International:
    Saloum
    Moloch
    The Wailing

    Clever low budget indie stuff:
    Hellbender
    I Blame Society
    Here Comes Hell

For horror (and horror related) documentaries:
    This Is Gwar
Woodlands Dark & Days Bewitched: A History of Folk Horror
Scream, Queen! My Nightmare on Elm Street

    Classic:
    Black Sabbath
    The Changeling
    Eyes of Fire
